This morning I asked the question on my Facebook page, if you could sew
with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be?
All I can say is THANK YOU to all the responses I received.
The majority of people would love the chance to sew with either
their mothers or grandmothers and reading and "liking" each
response put a smile on my face. The emotion this question
brought to the surface really touched a lot of hearts and souls.
So...if you don't follow me on Facebook, first WHY NOT?
second..you can answer the question here...if you could
sew with anyone, alive or dead, who would it be?
BTW...the funniest answer...George Clooney...
Yes..I think I could sew with George...
Until Next Time..
Most of y'all know I love to cook...one of the things I enjoy about cooking is the prep work,
slicing and dicing to put everything together is the part of the process that I love. I made a big pot of soup last night and it included roasted poblano peppers. So I fire roasted the peppers over
an open flame then peeled and diced the peppers up, it's messy work and just
about the time I was done I remembered that Wegmans carried fire roasted
poblano peppers in their freezer section..and this point I would have slapped
my forehead and gone duh..but with messy hands from peeling the peppers I'm glad I didn't.
While the soup was simmering I was cutting up fabric for a shop sample and my
mind went all squirrel, which it often does, and I was thinking about precut kits
and it dawned on me...I really do like to cut out quilts. I'd almost have to say that cutting is my favorite
part of quilting...now don't get me wrong, if I can pick up a jelly roll or charm pack I'…
Do you have a bucket list going? is it growing or are you checking things off?
I never thought about actually writing down a bucket list, there are things I want to do
and places I want to see but to actually start a list, I've never thought to do that. For one thing
I'd be adding things to my list then scratching them off because I changed my mind or whatever it was I did something similar. So...if I did start a bucket list it would look something like this...
Spin raw wool into something beautiful
Play a musical instrument
Learn the ins and outs of photography
See the Northern Lights
Visit Alaska and see all the cool stuff there See wild horses on Assateague
Take a hot air balloon ride
see...I've already starting checking things off...
There are a ton more things I'd like to do and see
and like I said, I'll add to this list and scratch things off but
at least it's a start...
what's on your bucket list?
Until Next Time...
Vacation as defined by Wikipedia: A vacation or holiday is a specific trip or journey, usually for the purpose of recreation or tourism. People often take a vacation during specific holiday observances, or for specificfestivals or celebrations. Vacations are often spent with friends or family. We're just getting back from this...
The purpose of this vacation was just to get away and chillax...and chillax we did... Back to reality tomorrow.. Kelly Ann
Do you ever feel like just getting away from it all???
Can't get much further away then this...
We are spending a few days in Chincoteague VA..
and while we're spending some much needed down time on the beach I'm also
reading a hilarious book by Susan McCorkingdale, 500 Acres and No Placeto Hide: More Confessions of a Counterfeit Farm Girl omg...make sure and
wear your depends when reading this book, she will crack you up.
But wait..so that you don't think that I've totally turned into a beach bum and
completely forgotten that I have two shop hops coming up I am working on
one of the projects I've designed for Quilters' Quest..but mostly I'm reading
and enjoying my time off with Andrew..
I'll be back in a few days and check in on what I've gotten
done and fill you in on the rest of the beach getaway..
Until Next Time

Be Kind Kelly Ann
I've been busying stitchin' on the Quilters' Quest quilt and while

what the quilt will look like when it's done. But...here's what I can
tell you...it involves Aurifil 12wt Red...Michael Miller Cotton Coutour Bright White and
200+ half square triangles...
Until Next Time...
Be Kind.. Kelly Ann
Isn't it funny how there are certain things that can cause a major discussion...religion, politics and the weather. Spending a good chunk of my life in Eastern North Carolina...
See that little town, Havelock, yep that's where I grew up...anyway back to the weather.
Ya see, growing up there I know a thing or two about humidity, to say it's thick is an understatement. The threat of hurricanes coming up the coast was an annual event and we took it in stride because that's what you do. Snow...don't go there, when it snows everything stops, seriously, no road salt trucks, plows, what's that? In 1989 there was a snowstorm to beat all snowstorms, poor Skip (the local weather legend) is still talking about it.
Sitting on my front porch in Virginia this Sunday morning the air is so thick I can actually see it and you can almost taste it..yep it's THICK...and ya know what it feels pretty good. But ya know what feels better, the a/c when you do walk back inside.…
I'm a lover of music...I know that most people love music and some even make money from it, let me just say that I'll never make money from music...I can't carry a turn with two buckets in hand. My inability to carry a tune never kept me from singing at the top of my lungs when I was growing up. I'd walk down to the Zip-Mart and pick up a latest copy of Song Hits Magazine, it didn't have the music notes but the words to all the latest hits, run home and sign every song in the magazine before the end of the day. Today Hal David passed away, most people don't know who he was and to be honest when I heard the name I wasn't so sure myself but when I saw the list of songs he had written I knew that I did know Hal David because I could pretty much sing every song he had ever written, you tell me, do you know these songs?
