There were two things I wanted to do over the Christmas holiday...
spend time with my husband, dogs and friends...
clean my sewing space.
My space is a mess...and the biggest problem with that is I'm using
a room that sits between our kitchen and front door, so it kind of needs to
look half way decent.
I've gone back and forth on what to call it, my studio, sewing room, creative
space, office...never hit on the right word but what I had taken to calling it
lately was a big ole' mess...
check it out...
I share my sewing stuff with two dog beds, two dogs and my desk
and lots and lots of clutter.
I started at my desk because it I wanted to see what the top of it
what do ya think?
Next I wanted to work on my shelves, organize and find a place
to display some of my stinkin' cute stuff. This was a challenge, I needed to sort, clean out,
and basically purge my fabric but it really did pay off...
And I needed to organize my threads...
This is a small bit of my 12wt Aurifil threads...
kind of cool organizing space, dontcha think?
Flip my chair around and spent a little time spiffing up my
sewing machine space...
Finished cleaning off my sewing table, which doubles for my cutting space, moved
the ironing board and just general cleaning up of the space
The goal for 2013 is to keep this space cleaned up and somewhat
organized. There are a few things I need to add to the walls including
my design wall and a quilt rack.
Now it's time to chillax for a bit before I head back
to work tomorrow...
Until next time..

Christmas is forever, not for just one day,
for loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away
like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf.
the good you do for others is good you do yourself.

Merry Christmas from our house to yours...

Wanna feel like you're 16 again?
Facebook has allowed me to connect to a lot of my Havelock High School peeps...
and for the last two years they have made me feel 16 again.
Havelock is a small town in North Carolina that has a strong connection to MCAS Cherry Point.
It wasn't like we all started school together in the 1st grade and 12 years later walked
the football field to receive our diplomas. Some came the last couple years of high school, some middle
school but that never mattered, because if you went to Havelock High School then you were
a Havelock Ram
The high school has always had a strong football program having earned the title
of State 3A Champions several times over the years.
I moved away almost 20 years ago but now I feel like I'm back home, going to the Pep Rallys,
Homecoming games, Alumni Night...and you know why...because yes again
the Havelock Rams are the State 3A Champions...2 years running...
So do you want to feel like you're 16 again? Just hook up with some peeps from
high school and follow your old team and when they win you'll see
people posting and cheering, watching updates to the scores and lots of chatter
about how the team is doing.
Congratulations to the Havelock High School football team and to the community..
because if there is one thing that Havelock loves..it's their Rams...
Way to go Team...
Until Next Time
Warning...this blog post may cause some tears, but believe me, that are happy ones. I had a dream last night, and my father was in it. No...
YES we know, there are National days for everything but this is one that must be taken seriously. On Friday, June 1, we celebrated Nation...
Isn't it funny how there are certain things that can cause a major discussion...religion, politics and the weather. Spending a good chu...
