What do you think is the biggest game changer in your quilting world?
For me it isn't just one thing..I could say rotary cutter, but that's a gimme.
I think with each new generation of quilters someone is trying to be the quilt police. We often hear "you have to do this" "you have to do that" to be a quilter.
My opinion..you have to enjoy what you are doing...
So..
Press those seams open...or not
Cut on the length of the fabric...or not
So..
Back to my original question..what do you think is the biggest game changer in your quilting world?

ReplyDeleteYES...I love that
DeleteMy new sewing room has made my quilting life so much more enjoyable. It's awesome! My husband built it just the way I wanted it ...
ReplyDeleteMakes a world of difference..I know it did for me.
DeleteAccuquilt!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE LOVE LOVE that answer..and so very true...it really is a game changer for me too
DeleteGiving myself permission to like what I do and to (occasionally) tell the inner critic to just shut up. And the corollary - admitting that some of my stuff is pretty darn cool! Makes it more fun to make other stuff!
ReplyDeleteI love that you are admit that some of your stuff is pretty darn cool..that ROCKS!
DeleteAllowing myself to make patterns I love whether traditional, modern, improve, scrappy, etc. In fabrics that I enjoy sewing. Some of my favorite quilts are traditional blocks in fun bright modern colored fabrics.
ReplyDeleteGiving ourself permission is HUGE..way to go!
DeleteThe biggest game changer for me? Teaching watching quilters become confident in their skills, stop the negative thought train, that's the game changer.
ReplyDeleteTOTALLY a game changer..we need to build each other up with positive thoughts...
