Instead of writing all the details of our last quilters cruise I thought I would walk you through it with pictures...

After a very long day on the road heading home, with no pictures, we stopped for a quick sleep and woke to a little mustache on our coffee cups.

We had a great time on our fourth quilters cruise .. so much fun that we've booked one for next year

Wooly Block Adventure 2017

On Monday October 16 the 2017 Wooly Block Adventure kicks off and wow have they switched up the rules this year.



This years theme is Harvest Baskets and the blocks are very creative this year with some great fall colors. My block is called "Wildflower Basket" .. this bittersweet wrapping itself around the fading wild sunflowers that grow along the roadways here in Virginia.

I started this blog in 2008...

We have had a wonderful 13 years in business and I'm looking forward to what the future will bring...new friendships, new travels, new quilts, new techniques..and maybe a few throwback memories, because after all, memories shape who we are today.

A Personal Post

Please indulge me as I write this very personal post....

When an obituary doesn't tell the whole story:

On Christmas day I received a phone call from my nephew that my brother had passed away in his sleep. His death was sudden and with no warning. Time stood still and I didn't know if I could catch my breath from the shock.

You see, Jimmy had always been a part of my life, at 57 I didn't know a life without having this older brother that I looked up to. We had lost our other brother, Karl, in 1984 in a car accident. When there were three, we were down to two...now I am just one.



I found this picture of the three of us...1963/64...the cat, Waldo, is being held by Karl and if you'll notice Jimmy is in a cast..I'm sure there is a story behind that and my mother will be able to fill that in.


Let me tell you about Jimmy that his obituary didn't.
