Big Clean-Up

There were two things I wanted to do over the Christmas holiday...
spend time with my husband, dogs and friends...
and...
clean my sewing space.

My space is a mess...and the biggest problem with that is I'm using
a room that sits between our kitchen and front door, so it kind of needs to
look half way decent.

I've gone back and forth on what to call it, my studio, sewing room, creative
space, office...never hit on the right word but what I had taken to calling it
lately was a big ole' mess...
check it out...

I share my sewing stuff with two dog beds, two dogs and my desk
and lots and lots of clutter.

I started at my desk because it I wanted to see what the top of it
looked like...
so...
what do ya think?

Next I wanted to work on my shelves, organize and find a place
to display some of my stinkin' cute stuff.  This was a challenge, I needed to sort, clean out,
and basically purge my fabric but it really did pay off...

And I needed to organize my threads...

This is a small bit of my 12wt Aurifil threads...
kind of cool organizing space, dontcha think?

Flip my chair around and spent a little time spiffing up my
sewing machine space...

Finished cleaning off my sewing table, which doubles for my cutting space, moved
the ironing board and just general cleaning up of the space
and...
Voila...

The goal for 2013 is to keep this space cleaned up and somewhat
organized.  There are a few things I need to add to the walls including
my design wall and a quilt rack.

Now it's time to chillax for a bit before I head back
to work tomorrow...

Until next time..
Be Kind...

  2. Your messy space looks tidier than mine right now! Your organized space looks great...I think my stopping point is trying to decide how to organize and store fabric..any hints?

  3. That's quite a transformation - time well spent indeed. Looks lovely!
I haven't decided on my resolutions for New Year yet but tidying the sewing room and keeping it tidy certainly should be on the list! Lynne.
